O secretário de Segurança Pública do Rio Grande do Sul, Wantuir Jacini, admitiu a possibilidade de chamar a Força Nacional de Segurança para atuar na Penitenciária Estadual de Charqueadas (PEJ), onde detentos se rebelaram na terça-feira, deixando dois policiais militares feridos. Em entrevista à Rádio Gaúcha, na manhã desta quarta, Jacini ainda comentou a escalada da violência no Estado e os ataques a ônibus e lotação na última noite.
De acordo com o secretário, autoridades da segurança se reúnem nesta tarde para avaliar a situação na PEJ. Na terça-feira, descontentes com transferências, cerca de 180 presidiários colocaram fogo em colchões, quebraram paredes, e arremessaram pedras em policiais militares.
— É justamente para ações específicas como essa que a Força Nacional existe. Se for necessário, vou propor ao governador que chame esse reforço. Se fossemos aplicar a Força Nacional no policiamento rotineiro, não teríamos um bom aproveitamento porque são policiais de várias cidades brasileiras, que não conhecem a área — disse o secretário.
Questionado, Jacini disse que, caso a Força Nacional seja solicitada, policiais militares que atualmente controlam a segurança da PEJ poderão ser empregados em patrulhas nas ruas da Capital.
Diferentemente do que afirmou o prefeito de Porto Alegre, José Fortunati, Jacini disse não ter informações de que os ataques a cinco ônibus e um lotação, na noite de terça, tenham sido planejados de dentro de presídios. Segundo o secretário, as ações foram praticadas pelos mesmos indivíduos, com o mesmo modus operandi. Eles seriam de uma quadrilha que atua na Zona Sul da cidade.
— Não sabemos a origem dos ataques. A informação mais próxima que temos é que os fatos podem ter ligação com a morte de um criminoso, que tinha extensos antecedentes, durante uma abordagem policial — disse Jacini.
