Pros e governo defendem mudanças no ECA contra PEC da maioridade penal

O líder do Pros, deputado Domingos Neto (CE), disse que o partido é contra a PEC da Maioridade Penal (PEC 171/93) e vai defender mudanças no Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescentes para ampliar o tempo de internação do jovem infrator.

A PEC, em discussão no Plenário, autoriza a pena de prisão para jovens entre 16 e 18 anos que cometem crimes graves – assassinatos, estupros, entre outros. Hoje, esses jovens cumprem medidas socioeducativa.

O líder do governo, deputado José Guimarães (CE), propôs que os menores fiquem até 8 anos internados se cometerem crimes considerados hediondos. “Vamos nos unir em nome da civilização. Os países que fizeram a redução estão trabalhando a ideia da socialização”, disse Guimarães.

Para Domingos Neto, a mudança no ECA poderia garantir a aplicação mais rápida de uma pena ao adolescente infrator, já que o processo é mais rápido do que o previsto no Código Penal. “Se punido pelo Código Penal, um jovem poderia estar solto em um ano meio por progressão da pena, mas se mudarmos o ECA poderá cumprir pena de até 8 anos”, disse. Ele afirmou ainda que a mudança legal precisa vir acompanhada de investimentos do governo federal nas instituições de internação.
